Over the past week or so Hank919 and I have experienced several cases where we have, after submitting prices from the FSL, received a blank page showing "Sorry - an error occured Back to Home Page" msg. Then you have to enter the prices all over again, whereupon you might get the same msg or the prices might be accepted.

Any error msgs should explain what the error is, e.g. what went wrong and, what to do to correct the situation (if possible) and what to expect in the future. At the very least, an error number should be displayed so that the powers that be can figure out what has happened. (I guess the programmer who wrote this was asleep in Basic Error Messages 101.)

I was using Chromium 5.0.384.0 and Hank was using Firefox.

Thirty eight and we've escaped fate!

Let's just keep posting (everyday) about how we have been exactly 38 days problem free and see how long we can get away with it. It will be our own personal JFF.

Hey, until GB tells us exactly what the results of their investigation has been, then this topic appears to have turned into a JFF topic.

Another day OK.

SM: The screenshot was posted on the 13th by V8.

I too have not seen the error for three days; my FSL works fine, now. If GB did something to fix it, it would be nice to have made an announcement here. If they didn't, it would be useful to state that too.

scoutmaster, it only happens on illinoisgasprices.com where my list is quite long. Actually, today, I was able to post from my favorites at 2 different times today. I'm happy for now.

Another thought is, could there be a problem with my favorite station list??
On Illinoisgasprices my Chicagogasprices stations are listed also, and the list is quite long. On the other sites where I can post from favorites the list is pretty short (less than 10 stations).

Has the error page in the screen shot been identified as to at least why it was sent?

The same problem is happening at the AustinGasPrices site.
Three different computers, Multiple Servers, and/or four different browsers (Internet Explorer, Fire Fox, Google Chrome, and Safari).

**Can't update prices from favorites.
**Can't search for stations.
**Can see saved searches, but cannot create new ones.
**Can only post single prices by clicking on a station that I can see on the website page.
**System will not accept multiple grade prices.

Om the bright side, the mobile site will take the prices.

PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND TAKES TOO LONG TO FIGURE OUT EACH DAY HOW TO GET MY STATIONS UPDATED!

Thank you.

I have had a similar problem intermittently. When posting from the FSL, the prices would appear to be accepted and the points added, but the prices on the price page would not be updated. No error message showing. To update the prices on the price page, I go to the maps and choose each station individually and update from there where the update occurred normally. This anomaly started about the first of February and has reappeared occasionally. I am using Win7 pro 64 bit and Firefox with Adblock installed

The msg figman is getting is not the same as I described in the OP, which is a few words in only two lines in the upper left-hand corner (see V8's screen shot).

Why did this start in January? Nothing in the two kinds of PCs I use has changed this year that I know of.

>> It could be the ads.

The behavior reported from the OP was the site not accepting prices posted to the FSL. An error generated from an ad would occur on the member's system, and would not prevent posting of prices, which ultimately takes place on the server which doesn't deal with ads.

I don't believe figman's report is for the same sort of problem (which, also, is a problem with the local PC not able to deal with the ad content, and not a server problem).

I don't think it's a server issue. I think figman is onto something. It could be the ads.

Try installing AdBlock or FlashBlock and see if the problem persists.

Still happening on Illinoisgasprices.com updating from favorites. Received the following info:

Message: Object doesn't support this property or method
Line: 24
Char: 3
Code: 0
URI: http://amch.questionmarket.com/adscgen/st.php?survey_num=948277&site=75642966&code=46130465&randnum=1364597

This was out of IE8. Receive a script error on Firefox (latest update). I have updated from favorites on 2 other sites and works fine.

Just a thought. Since the adds rotate in and out, is it possible it's with an add??

That some of us never encounter? Even when we *try* to reproduce the issue by using the same browser/OS combinations that appear to generate the problem? And especially when one of the combinations is Windows 7 with IE9, which I would imagine is a particularly frequent combination.

Two different browsers on two different kinds of PCs in two different environments with two different ISPs. Yeah, that just reeks of of local problem.

Here that figman? You've got a local Chicago problem and I've got a local Sacramento problem. And Hank919 in Modesto has the same local problem when he uses Sacto.

You think you're the only one using IE9 or Chrome? If it were a problem with how the website were coded, we'd see widespread problems. As it appears, there is just some local issue that is creating your issues.
