I've always had the 'most recent' fill up display a -- until the next fill up when the mpg could be calculated for that tank.

Every so often it leaves the most recent (like normal) and the previous fill and sometimes two with a -- in the mpg slot.

Filled tank is 'yes' and missed previous fill is 'no'. Odometer records and date records are accurate (it's not trying to figure out my mpg when I have fewer miles on the car now than last week)

Is there anything I'm overlooking? What's causing this?
thanks,
Matt

If I understand your question correctly, you should always see a " -- " on the line indicating your most current fuel logbook posting. The " -- " is because there's no current miles per gallon from the most recent fill-up posting.

If you have two " -- " listing in a row, then you might want to go back and recheck your entry to see if you inadvertently made an entry error.

If you're confident that you haven't made an error, copy the information for reference, delete the entries, and re-post them. That should solve the problem.

As an aside, and it's just a suggestion, if you're posting to your fuel logbook, you might consider posting gas prices at the same time, for the benefit of your fellow Grand Rapids Gas Buddy members. As a nearly 9-year members, you've averaged about two gas price posts a month. If you posted just one gas price a week, you'd double the amount of information you're providing your fellow members. I mean if you're going to update your logbook with gas price informaion anyway...
