When I was doing this I lived in Seattle and worked in a hanger on Boeing Field AKA the King County Airport. I worked there as an aircraft electrician which was my title. The company was called Air Repair and they mainly worked on the first versions of the Boeing 737-100. There was a little work on Fairchild prop jets and the occasional Boeing 727 or 707 but most of it was 737 work. Most of my work was on the bench with the so-called black boxes and some of it was inside the planes on wiring. We did not use the duct tape on those that was on small planes only especially fabric ones. It was quite the education which I am sure working on the embraer planes is too. By the way the picture of the battery bay on the 787 was shocking to me as it looks like the wiring is not sufficiently tied down like it would have been on older Boeing planes.
