Yes it does send the wrong message, but Hollywood could care less. It's all about what they want to do.

Ok, let's try something new. Genetic modification of the next generation of children. Come up with a genetic modification so that if they drink ethanol they will break out with huge pimples. That'll make em stop. LOL !!!!

Instead of blaming the media perhaps we should start pointing the finger at poor parenting. Is it not time that parents start proper parenting instead of blaming influences outside the home.

Bars and pubs have advertised in all media from the beginning, the difference is that websites have more graphics and are visually alluring. The responsibility for the proper use of alcohol still lies with the consumer.

I'd say the Socialism crammed into teens' skulls full of mush by our education system is more of a wrong message.

It is beer that seems to sponsor much of the sports programming, especially football. Beer related activities are portrayed as socially acceptable. I have never seen a TV show or movie where drunk driving was portrayed in a bad light. We banned smoking ads, why can't we ban alcohol ads on TV.

Teaching our kids the rights and wrongs of life starts at Home - without good direction our kids will do / try anything. You tell your kids not to drink, but if they do you give them good directions on what to do next. We as parents are responsible for our kids and that's it . . .

Writers of TV and movies don't know how to flesh out a character without making them a drunk. Notice how every cop show is built around a cop with a severe drinking problem and most of the settings used are bars. Most of the teen stories are also built around boozing it up. All parties are beer binges.

get over it and legalize drugs - remember prohibition when mothers were begging its repeal because their babies were getting shot in their cribs due to the alcohol gangs? same thing today. there's a lot less mayhem with legalized drugs

As long as someone can profit, they could care less how others are affected. Alcohol seems to be legal everywhere and their is no way to enforce any laws concerning the under aged because of it. Also, the stores placement of alcoholic beverages is usually in high traffic areas to catch the attention of those most vulnerable to the effects of alcohol. Try reporting parties with lots of under-aged and see how far you get. Here law enforcement won't dare get involved. So it isn't just the advertising.

Just because the First Amendment protects the publishing of such things as the Metromix doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. Be responsible, Gannett.

Start showing the people who have to go to Alcholics Anonymous, the down and out on the street because of alcohol and drug abuse and the crooked politicians whose parties I wouldn't be caught at.
