My gas cans and cars are filled...stations out of gas at this time will refill in a few days. Isaac has brought tornadoes, high wind gusts, twisted trees, blowing debris and a storm surge causing flooding. Hate it for those West of here but hopefully the cities facing drought will get some relief. I have posted some photos TS Isaac "Calm before the storm". Take a look if you wish to.

KEEP YOUR GAS TANKS (and gas-cans)FULL!...I've been posting this for four weeks or so. The so-called "pundits" have totally missed the supply/demand condition of gasoline. Nothing has changed. Six or seven refineries down due to emergency repairs throughout the MidWest, Ok and Calif, plus a pipeline. We now have a large tropical storm that may disrupt more refineries. On top of all this, all eyes will be on Ben Bernanke speech this Friday. If he announces further stimulus to the economy, the dollar will be pressured down which tends to raise energy prices... BE SMART! STAY FULL!! Gas prices are up close to 70cents since my first post.

this storm shouldn't affect canadian prices but you can be sure pig oil will find a way to make sure it does . we need a viable alternative so we can tell them to take a hike .

A minor blip at worst... the biggest damage will come from the speculators on wall street driving up gas prices.

Hope for the best for the Gulf Coast Region. But it is wrong to speculate gas prices higher before any damage is reported.

Prices will not go up because of Isaac - they'll go up because it's a holiday weekend.

The Gulf area is going to be impacted far harder than any of the other areas because at least, we still have access to refilling of our stations. As Isaac comes closer to landfall, companies are not going to want to endanger their drivers in order to deliver fuel into the projected areas.
We'll deal with the impact on prices.
Hope everyone that was able to evacuate got out. And everyone that had to stay - stays safe.

Make everything safe, evacuate what needs to be evacuated and hope for the best.
However, major price gouging here we go. If it hits with any force, I predict probably $4.25 gas before long in most parts of the US. Eventual fall-back might be to $4.00 as the new "low"!

Gas stations are very quick to raise prices, based on what they think will happen instead of the price they have to pay. This is called price gouging and is illegal, at least in the state of Florida. However, it is often hard to prove and when it is proven the stations usually just get a slap on the wrist in the form of a small fine that never seems to make it back to the people that actually were gouged by the high prices.

If you drill in a Hurricane prone location wouldn't it be smart to stockpile b4 the season to avoid shortfalls? Possibly store the reserve in tankers that can be relocated to another area? Nope...let's just shutdown and jack the pump price to cover the loss...
