What is your most likely reason to not fill your tank at the gas station?
Financial reasons, budget, timing etc.
I think it's more efficient to carry less weight.
Vehicle owned/used by others who buy their own gas
I know it will be cheaper elsewhere.
I'm in a hurry.
I keep track of my budget with even dollar amou

If it's the only gas station around and it's ?????, I won't get a full
tank of gas if there are a million satellites on top the roof of
the gas staion.

I usually fill the tank unless prices get outrageously high as they are now.

In a hurry
Gas prices too high
Don't have enough money
and if the pumps are really slow. Especially when I am in a hurry the speed the gas pumps out is so slow it takes twice as long as other places.

It pays to shop around! If prices are high, I will put $5-$10 in the tank until I see prices drop, then I will fill up. No one is here to make gas companies richer or to give in to the unnecessary price hikes!

I always fill up, with two exceptions:

1. Price is really high--then I will put in $5 to get to another station with a good price
2. Gas is wrong octane (one car requires premium) or I've had bad experience at that station (engine knock, water in the gas, or whatever)--then I will put in $5 to get to another station with good gas

Financial reason - i.e., if need to buy gas falls at low-balance time of the month.

Now that hurricane season is here, I need to keep at least 1/2 tank full.
I've been letting it get down to 1/4, occasionally less.

I used to enjoy hurricanes; but Hurricane Floyd in 1999 and Charlie, Frances, & Jean in 2004 changed all that. As a child I thought it was fun to watch rolls of pool screens bounce down the street. Now I know what that costs in $ and emotions, even if the screen can be reused.

I finally learned that we lived in Ft. Lauderdale during MILD hurricane years - mostly what would now be called level 1 or 2 'canes. We had one level 3 that blew a coconut straight across at least 2 blocks and hit the edge of our roof.

Let's hope & pray this turns out to be a mild year for us also.
