Financial reasons, budget, timing etc. I think it's more efficient to carry less weight. Vehicle owned/used by others who buy their own gas I know it will be cheaper elsewhere. I'm in a hurry. Financial reasons, budget, timing etc.

My attitude, filling up with 18 gallons and saving 15 cents per, buys my breakfast one morning.

Whenever it goes over $2.50/gal I put about 20 bucks in. When the price spikes (like it always does), I put just enough in to make it to when I think the price will begin to fall. Right before it shot up to $100/bbl I filled it up, but during the period when the price was hovering around $3/gal I only put about 5-6 gallons in at a time. The whole price/trend guessing is a big (enter expletive here) game. I don't EVER recall in the last 15 years when the price fluctuated as much as it has in the last 2 years.
