WhiskersTheCat said:
Obama and Chu think they should be higher.
Aviator Rob commented on Whiskers repeating the comment not because of any error but because he must have a problem with the truth. Too bad people are so blind in their support for a political party to allow the distraction to avoid the truth.

More sources available by googling: Obama, gas prices, Chu
And I keep getting emails from the Obama campaign laced with lies about concern for the middle class, but Obama's people can't answer how he can possibly be of interest to middle class families when he makes statements about contentedness with high gas prices.

I don't disagree with another New Hampshire member about the continual gripe. But the political explanation of NSEXY has merit too. Not that Obozo will help keep prices falling in front of an election, he just won't take a lot of trouble to keep them climbing. Obozo is very comfortable on the sidelines.

Gas goes up--they gripe. Gas goes down--they gripe. If gas was free--they would gripe it's not delivered to the house!

Yep, it is election time. I remember four years ago when gas was around $1.85, and people are saying that prices are down now? I remember Bozama being quoted as saying we needed 7 buck (Europe price) gasoline to make us greener. I remember the spendulus, the "hope and change", and I think "YES, WE CAN!" 160 days until the ejection.
I am griping about gas. I am griping about the economy. I am griping about our national leadership. YES WE CAN

And then after picketing the gas stations and the news crews have gone home, watch everyone go back the next day and gas up their cars at the same price.
You wanna stick it to Big Oil? Stop driving. Anything less is compromise.

Well, it has been dropping here for almost two months, now 50¢ below early-April prices.

You can do more than just complain about hugh gas prices!! --Protest high gas prices and price fixing--any gas priced over $2.50 per gallon-- picket the 15 highest priced gas stations in your area!! Join the protest at the WALK ON WASHINGTON and at all the other State Capitals on Friday June 1st 2012!! Bring your protest signs and let Big Oil know what you think of the obscene profits that Big Oil extorts from the American consumer!!

wiwhite87 said, "It's a lifestyle that can not be sustained. It's just that simple. We're hitting a point at which the resource of fuel can not be extracted at a price that it was. It's not that we're out of oil. It's not that more can't be drilled for... it's at WHAT COST. Eventually it takes more energy (from fossil fuels) to create and refine oil than the energy it actually contains. Cost becomes a factor, and no company will survive long running in the red."
True-er words were never written.

Gasoline is the only thing that we buy where we can watch the dollars flowing away as the dial on the pump climbs higher. Even at the grocery store, where you can see the price of each item as it is scanned, you do not see the total until the end. There is some psychological effect in watching the dollar dial spinning so much faster than the gallon dial.

Ditto clermont40miles, you've hit it on the target. And with all the refineries here in Calif. you'd think our prices would be a little closer to the national avg. and not the highest, oh, excuse me, 2nd. highest in the nation.
WHY WHY WHY...
There are NO excuses for this. NONE...

Very sneaky, abcdMA but maybe you should have said 8/8/2008 when the last guy was in the White House and gas blew past $4.00/gal the first time.

Gas never really went down at all during the past year. Prices are still sky high. The market is manipulated and is fixed. No competition at all.
