Oil is at an 8 month low. Why would gas stations jack up the price just because of a holiday? They never do that - or do they?????

No real reason. Prices dropped and stayed down at the beginning of the official 'driving season'. Stop subsidies until All refined product stays here!

Wouldn't be too surprising. Big Oil is constantly manipulating supply to keep prices high or moving higher.

I don't know why they would go up, the economy is still in the tank. One good market day does not make a trend.

I don't think it's fair for Patrick DeHaan to say that. That will provide just another excuse for the speculators to jump and jack up prices, and then the refineries and distributors to raise prices when they don't need to. Maybe he should say something like: "Gas prices should be stable around the 4th, despite increases in crude". Just another excuse around the 4th for them to make more money.

Nah, gas prices will not spike for the Fourth of July. Hopefully, it will be similar to Memorial Day and actually drop.

No valid price drive. But the 4th isn't here and the specu-traitors can move fast.
GREEDway can spike anytime they want to, with impunity.
This week will tell the story.

I love that magic word "could." "Gas prices could spike for the Fourth of July as oil prices soar." How ridiculous can some media get? Hell could freeze over this year, it usually does freeze over in the winter, that is if one is talking about Hell, Michigan.

So let's see, an increase of 13 cents a gallon on the wholesale market translates to an increase of 40 cents a gallon at the pump. Overnight. Sounds like funkiness to me.

media and prognosticaters help raise gas prices too...so shut up and just let things happen, and report what happens instead of what 'might' happen!

That is why I have 20 five gallon gas cans - it is how I play the gas price game. Buy low and use it when prices are high.

#3.49 this morning, $3.79 at the same station 12 hours later. There goes about a month worth of sliding prices just like that.

And the price at the pump in metro Atlanta has dropped another penny, even though the price of oil has been climbing.
Methinks there's something fishy afoot ... again.
As previously said, those in charge of the gouging need to develop some serious illnesses - a pox on thee.

This is so wrong that oil jumped over $7 in one day......nice for the speculators, bad for us. As vibdata pointed out, we are no where near the low of where gas prices should be, yet we KNOW the gas stations will just jump up those prices as fast as they can change their numbers on their signs.

The price of a gallon of wholesale junk just jumped yesterday by 16 cents. So you can figure that out pretty easy. Even though the prices have nowhere near reached the level they should have due to wholesale pricing (they should be much lower), they will certainly jump up on this unexpected greedy trading. If you want to see the price of gas, look at the futures. NOW.
