funny how the projections always say "could help avert" or something along the lines. That would mean, that all production remains where the product was attained, not sold to the highest bidder.

keep in mind the cost in human lives (not just direct loss, but indirect by means of black lung and other health issues cutting miners' lives short) and coal isn't as great an energy source as it appears. But then, when have Americans of the past 40 or 50 years really cared what happens to others.

Geez, do you really believe N5EXY that, " (In case of war Obama would) deprive America of the energy it needs to function and compete in the world."
Really? It would be the biggest Nuclear War you could ever imagine. The strength of the US is that we have many form of energy....and don't depend on just 1 or 2 sources.
Beside....with current technology, it would have to be either Canada or Mexico that would have to have the rockets to do so. Right now the only thing we don't like about the Canadian for is clogging up the lines at Costco. Scary!

Export coal to other countries and let them worry about the consequences. But, it's jobs for Kentucky and that’s a good thing. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Good for the economy. Plus more jobs to help clean up the pollution from India.

That’s good for our balance of trade but bad from most other perspectives. It will probably be burned with lower standards for pollution control in India than in the US. Much Kentucky and West Virginia coal is mined by mountaintop removal / valley fill, which is extremely destructive. The mine owners and shippers will make a lot of money, the mine workers will make a little money, and the global environment will suffer.

If you still need a reason to defeat Obama then consider his administration’s intense effort to deprive America of the energy it needs to function and compete in the world. If a foreign nation had launched an attack on America to destroy its coal-fired plants, to shut down its coal mines, and to thwart its ability to drill for oil and natural gas, we would be at war with it.

high grade coal which could be part of our energy solution, instead, the administration puts restrictive regulations in place trying to kill coal in the US

Funny how we're trying to be "green" in this country by not wanting to use coal, but we're all for exporting this valuable resource.
Wouldn't it make more sense to use our own coal, and let India use windmills?

Jobs equal money, food and other such simple items. Those who opose sale of coal must have plenty $$$ so share with your neighbor. That's right this is Obama's plan. No jobs and take your money for others.

The so-called "clean coal technology" can also be called "expensive technology." Poor people in countries like India need immediate access to "cheap, affordable technology."

Well great.
India is another idiot country that has no environmental standards. At over a billion of them, so what if a few million die a year. I see it as more air for me, more food and water for me.
We need to bring "Clean Coal Technology" to the world as well as here. We'll have a couple of hundred years worth of energy without dropping like flies.
